As a life-long follower of all things Fortean I began researching a book about four years ago. It started as an examination of the phenomenon known as deja vu but I quickly found myself on an intellectual quest that Charles Fort would have been proud of. Now to my utter amazement not only has a publisher taken the book on but it is also selling very well world-wide (13,000 copies as of Feb 2007). I say that I started by trying to understand deja vu but by the end I seem to have come up with a simply staggering new theory regarding human consciousness and what happens to it at the point of death - and in doing so I seem to have explained not only deja vu but also lots of other things such as precognition, angelic assistance, possession etc. All really weird and even now I am not sure how I did it. Not only that but the 'hard' science in it really does seem to work. I was invited to lecture in Switzerland two weeks ago and at the end I was approached by a local guy. Apparently he was a particle physicist from CERN and he was very complementary about both my theory and the science behind it. All really very exciting. And now I want to share the idea with as many people as possible.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Anthony Peake and I am the author of a book with the rather clumsy(and ultimately misleading) title of 'Is There Life After Death? - The Extraordinary Science Of What Happens When We Die'. Unfortunately I lost the battle with my publisher because I wanted to call it the far more accurate 'Cheating The Ferryman'. However this does mean I can use this title for my third book. So why should this be of interest to this tribe?
