Dan Baines who designs illusions for magicians built a model of a mummified fairy as an April Fools Day prank.
After posting photos to a web sight he received 20,000 hits a day from true believers including some warnings he was in danger for violating the fairies grave.
After exposing the hoax he continued to receive emails from believers who felt that the hoax story was itself a hoax.
